Commercial Client Service Representative
Winnipeg, MB
The Commercial Client Service Representative is responsible for focusing on client retention through the servicing and renewal of existing commercial accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Regularly communicate with the insured’s, loss payees, sales representatives, account managers, underwriting, marketing and other Western Financial Group staff
- Process new business policies
- Follow-up on all cancellations requests in an effort to retain account
- Complete client renewals and endorsements as well
- Maintain renewal listings in an accurate and up-to-date format
- Perform collections, follow-ups and monitoring of all accounts receivables
- Assist management/staff with commercial related projects and mass group program renewals
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years experience in insurance or related industry
- Minimum General Agent Level 1 license
- Superior communications skills both verbal and written
- Ability to assist others in respect of other insurance programs within the Client Service Centre
- Ongoing professional continuing education through the CAIB and CIP programs
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work well under pressure, against deadlines and with little supervision
- Able to work well in a team atmosphere to develop a strong rapport with all team members
- Knowledge of MS products including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Knowledge of AS400 database
- Excellent telephone manner and phone skills

Claims Examiner

The Claims Examiner is responsible for assisting Group Insurance Solutions (GIS)’s clients in the reporting, adjustment and settlement of their claims, as well as for coordinating the investigation, evaluation, negotiation and settlement of claims within the level of authority granted to GIS by the Insurer.
Responsibilities:
- Establish direct contact with policyholders, insurers and other industry members in order to facilitate and assist GIS clients in the investigation, evaluation, negotiation and settlement of claims
- Provide feedback, instruction, assistance and direction to independent adjusters and insurers in order to assist and
co-ordinate the investigation, evaluation, negotiation and settlement of GIS’s clients’ claims
- Review policy wordings to determine if coverage is in force and applies
- Compose and send correspondence to insureds, insurers, third party claimants, adjusters, and other industry members
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong communications skills i.e. telephone etiquette and written
- Ability to interact with other people, ie: claimants, adjusters, lawyers, etc. in a friendly and courteous manner and to remain calm under pressure
- Knowledge of the insurance claims process, including coverage interpretation and legal requirements
- Business College or University Degree education required
- Minimum General Agent Level 1 license

Manager, Application Development

The Manager, Application Development is responsible for overseeing activities and resources related to the technical design, development, implementation, maintenance, and data integration of technical solutions for mission-critical system applications. This role will involve formalizing key processes throughout the systems development life cycle, be an active developer working on projects and providing effective leadership, management and training to the Application Development team.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for tracking vacation time, sick time, etc., and ensure enough staff is around during vacation time for the support positions
- Monitor day to day activity of the application development team
- Participate in hiring process for all application developer positions
- Assist in creating and delivering annual performance reviews and probation reviews
- Perform miscellaneous administrative tasks as required
- Set up and provide training to all new staff
- Assist in the planning, coordinating, and managing of Business Systems projects
- Identify and document project scope, risk and deliverables with client sponsors in relationship to contract obligations
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Monitor and review project progress, serving as liaison with business departments, adjusting schedules and plans as necessary
- Acquire and assign resources, as required
- Develop and gain approval of project plans and budgets
- Conduct cost/benefit analyses and risk assessments
- Identify and resolve issues, and obtain user acceptance of completed products/services

- Develop coding and file naming conventions to uphold quality control standards
- Design and develop in-house business applications using an array of technologies and programming languages
- Code and maintain existing programs developed in .Net Framework, LANSA, and RPGM
- Develop Web Services using the .Net and LANSA technologies
- Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
- Strong understanding in Object Oriented Practices (Analysis, Design, Development)
- Performing basic impact analysis as required
Skills and Qualifications:
- Recognized University Degree (majoring in Business)
- Minimum of 7-10 years experience as a lead in programming/analysis using Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) concepts with proven results
- Working knowledge of AS400 in IBM system 36 environment
- Knowledge and experience with the following development languages/tools: .NET, LANSA, and RPG
- Superior problem solving skills
- Team player
- Strong interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects at once

- Experience and understanding of Microsoft productivity tools/Operating System experience including: Windows XP, Windows 7, Microsoft Office 2007 and higher
